2018 GEFA Playoffs
Playoffs are officially here and Keystone Bowl XIV is less than a month away! This year the GEFA switched it up a bit and although they are continuing the crossover playoff format, this years playoff format consists of the best 8 teams in the entire league, regardless of the conference each team is in. This allows the best of the best to battle it out head to head to determine a championship of the absolute two best teams in the league. Here are your 2018 round 1 playoff matchups:
#8 Columbia County Phantoms (4-5) @ #1 Mount Joy Cyclones (10-0)
#5 Cumberland Valley Hitmen (7-3) @ #4 NEPA Shock (7-2)
#7 DuBois Area Mt. Lions (6-3) @ #2 Mifflin County Tomahawks (7-2)
#6 Upper Dauphin Comanche (7-3) @ #3 Moshannon Valley Vikings (7-2)
Who goes home? Who moves on to the final four? Some good matchups are in store for what may be one of the most competitive, hardest fought, GEFA playoffs in history. Check back next week to see if your favorite team is still alive.
The final four teams hunting for a spot in Keystone Bowl XIV are locked in. Here are your round 2 playoff matchups:
#4 NEPA Shock (8-2) @ #1 Mount Joy Cyclones (11-0)
#3 Moshannon Valley Vikings (8-2) @ #2 Mifflin County Tomahawks (8-2)
Good luck to the remaining four teams!
Keystone Bowl XIV
Cyclones are back to their fifth consecutive Keystone bowl to represent the Valley and after two years the Mountain conference has a new representative with the Vikings advancing to their first championship! This is a rematch from earlier this season that came down to the wire and should be another classic to end the 14th season of the league.
The All-Star game will be kicking off on June 30th at 4PM followed by the GEFA Hall of Fame and Awards ceremony shortly after. Once done, Keystone Bowl XIV will be kicking off at 7PM. Hot and cold concessions will be served all day for both events. The address to the field is:
100 Loch Lomond Rd
Philipsurg, PA 16866
#3 Moshannon Valley Vikings (9-2) @ #1 Mount Joy Cyclones (12-0)
Good luck to both teams!
